Women Support 1

Endometriosis Awareness Month is an international awareness campaign held every March to educate, support and understand endometriosis and its symptoms, challenges and treatments.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows elsewhere in the body. This can cause inflammation, pain and scar tissue. Endometriosis can cause a variety of symptoms that interfere with day-to-day life, including fertility problems.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth. Despite this, many are unaware of the effects of this condition and the impact it has on those who suffer from it.

On average, it takes almost 9 years from the first GP visit to get a diagnosis in the UK. Endometriosis UK highlights that there are several causes of this including the impact the Covid pandemic had on the NHS and its wait times and the lack of awareness from healthcare practitioners.

Increasing awareness means that those living with endometriosis may get a diagnosis quicker and in turn, get access to treatment quicker.

At Jordans Solicitors, we represent clients who have experienced delayed and missed diagnoses and understand the impact that this can have.

If you or anyone you know has been affected by medical delays or a misdiagnosis, please do not hesitate to contact our experienced legal team for a free and confidential discussion.
