Paedophile jailed for 21 years after being found guilty of child sexual

Anthony Fowler aged 74 was found guilty on the 13th of June 2024 of nine counts of sexual offending including bestiality. He was sentenced to 21 years at Snaresbrook Crown Court on the 30th of July 2024.

The abuse unfolded after it was revealed that Fowler had sexually assaulted a 10-year-old child from 1992 for two years. Following this, another survivor came forward alleging Fowler had also abused him for several years further initiating an investigation.

Interviews were undertaken with the survivor’s families and friends. Fowler denied the abuse and showed no remorse throughout the whole process. He would simply state ‘no comment’ when questioned about the abuse.

The detective chief inspector who led the investigation has said ‘I hope that the bravery and willingness of Fowler’s victims to come forward serves as an inspiration to those who may otherwise fear speaking out against this kind of abhorrent abuse.

Officers showed true determination in securing justice on behalf of the victims. I’d like to thank them for their compassion and dedication. They are a credit to the Met.
