Limousine driver jailed for sexually abusing girls in Rotherham
On 10th July 2024, Saynor, 76, now of Mayall court, Waddington, Lincolnshire, was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of a series of child sex abuse offences committed as far back as 2005 and will be sentenced on August 15th.
He invited his victims to do ‘promotional work’ for his brand then plied them with drink and drugs before raping or assaulting them, threatening to hurt them if they told anyone about the abuse.
He preyed on the most vulnerable girls, picking them up from schools or care homes in his stretched Hummer limousine or take them to or from teenage discos in Rotherham.
Following a five-week trial, he was found guilty of four counts of rape, two counts of paying for sexual services of a child and five counts of meeting a child following sexual grooming.
Saynor, was also found guilty of three counts of assault by penetration, two counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
His offending came to light as part of an inquiry conducted by the National Crime Agency (NCA) codenamed Operation Stovewood, the largest law enforcement investigation into non-familial child sexual exploitation and abuse in the UK.
Described as a manipulative predator, Saynor’s conviction means that 34 people have now been convicted of offences under Operation Stovewood.
It is clear from the investigation that no matter how long ago these offences took place, the police will investigate complaints in order to bring the offender to justice as happened here.
The courage and bravery shown by the victims in coming forward was praised by the police in enabling their abuser to be placed behind bars and that their conviction can at least give them some closure in the satisfaction of knowing they will not be free to prey on others.
