Campaign To End Domestic Violence - 16 Days of Action

25th November 2024 to 10th December 2024

16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence is an international campaign calling for an end of abuse and violence to woman and girls.

History of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence  was initiated in 1991 by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. Since then, it has grown into a global movement involving thousands of organisations and individuals from around the world who are committed to addressing gender-based abuse.

Each year, the campaign focuses on a specific theme or issue related to gender-based violence, shedding light on various aspects of this pervasive problem and advocating for change.

When are the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence 2024?

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based violence  campaign starts on November 25th, 2024, which is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and concludes on December 10th, 2024, which is International Human Rights Day. A theme will be identified each day to explore the various forms of gender-based violence. In doing so, the workplace will be better equipped to acknowledge the signs that indicate it may be going on. These 16 days provide a dedicated period for advocacy and action.
