Sentencing of Eastwood Park Detention Centre Guard, Patrick Devaney, Due to Take Place

Eastwood Park was a detention centre for boys in Falfield, South Gloucestershire. It operated during the Government’s sanction of Short, Sharp, Shock treatment. It saw the mistreatment and abuse of teenage boys detained within the centre.
Patrick Devaney, a former guard at the Detention Centre has recently been convicted of misconduct in public offence. Whilst a guard it was heard in court that he would abuse and mistreat minors that were in his care.
Devaney is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court this week.
