A masseur used his business as a cover to sexually assault ten female clients, including a former reality TV star, while giving them full body massages, a court has heard.

Marcelo Oliveira, 45, of St Albans, Hertfordshire, denies 22 counts of sexual assault and six other serious sexual offences between March 2019 and July 2021.

Olivera has offices in Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and London.

Opening the case at Birmingham Crown Court, prosecutor Antonie Muller said: "

Oliveira undoubtedly set himself up in massage and was successful. He had customers.

This case is all about, the prosecution say, of him using the cover of massage to sexually assault and penetrate these 10 women. It is touching vaginas, it is touching breasts, it is touching them with his penis.

It is penetrating their vaginas with his fingers, it is pressing himself, his intimate parts against them, it is touching a leg, it is pulling down knickers. He describes himself as a qualified masseur and also describes himself as an aesthetic technician."

The trial continues.

Opinion

This case details serious allegations of misconduct by a so called professional who, it is said, used his services as a masseur to indecently assault his clients, no doubt in the hope that they would not report his activities or if they did, that no prosecution would follow.

It is testament to the survivors of such crimes, who are protected from being identified by law, that they have made the difficult decision to come forward and disclose their experiences, not only to receive justice for themselves but also to prevent these crimes from continuing to happen and protecting others against similar abuse.
