Today is emotional health awareness day. Emotional health aids our ability in understanding, managing and expressing our positive and negative emotions effectively. Maintaining your emotional health is crucial when trying to enhance the overall quality of your life and wellbeing. Poor emotional health can also negatively impact your physical health therefore it is important that we check in with ourselves regularly.

Emotional health awareness day gives an opportunity for everyone to take time for one day and reflect either by journaling, meditation or simply just sitting with your thoughts to better understand your feelings. By acknowledging your emotions this aids in reducing stress and improving your overall mental health.

Here at Jordans Solicitors, the abuse department are proud to support emotional health awareness day. We understand how a survivor’s emotional health can be affected due to abuse they have suffered in childhood, relationships, and other settings.

We aim to support survivors by providing them with a sense of closure by achieving the best possible amount of compensation in order to enable them to move on.  Survivors often experience low self-esteem, mental health issues, guilt and shame which all contribute to poor emotional health. By achieving compensation for the abuse, they have suffered it allows them to seek help through therapy and counselling and further improve their overall health and wellbeing.

By taking part in emotional health awareness day, it assists in ensuring we make it a habit to continually be aware and understanding of our emotions and how to tackle negativity effectively. It is not only just for one day but should be practiced regularly in so that we aim to be mindful of how we are feeling in our day to day lives.
